Attachment Options - (Shareware) COM add-in by Outlook MVP Ken Slovak, that adds an Attachment Security Options page to the Tools-Options dialog in Outlook which allows you to manage which file attachments to block. Also, provides a user interface for setting two other Outlook options — "Read as Plain Text" and "Minimize to System Tray".

DetachOL - (Free) A standalone utility for changing the list of blocked file attachments according to the level of risk you're willing to take.

MailDefense - (Shareware) Quarantines potentially dangerous attachments in incoming or outgoing messages using POP, SMTP, IMAP, or Exchange mailboxes. Outlook XP Unlocker - (Shareware. In French) Controls access to file types normally blocked by Outlook security settings.

Plus Pack for Outlook Web Access - (Shareware) Blocks user's attempts of creating file attachments of certain types (".exe", for instance) found in a list that administrators can manage. theAttacher - (Shareware) Outlook 2000/2002 COM add-in to checks outgoing messages for words that indicate you're sending an attachment and reminds you to attach the file if it finds nothing attached. The word list and warnings are customizable. Also, can warn you if you're sending particular types of file attachments (again, a customizable list), especially those that secure versions of Outlook will block.

TweakOL - (Free) Modifies the Windows registry to change the list of blocked file attachments according to the level of risk you're willing to take; always shows the Bcc field, can minimize Outlook 2002 to the system tray, and disable or enable MSN Messenger. For Outlook 2002 only.

ViraLock - (Shareware) Adds a security prompt for outgoing messages with attachments that could contain viruses. Encrypts addresses in Outlook or Outlook Express address books and incoming messages to prevent viruses from spreading themselves, then decrypts the address in outgoing messages. After installation, users will need to enter a password when Outlook starts. Works only with POP accounts.

VirusArrest - (Shareware) Outlook 2000/2002 COM add-in that prompts the user for confirmation at every message sent with an attachment.

Xenos Outlook Security Extension - (Shareware) An utility for managing file attachment blocking in Outlook. Also manages optional settings such as "minimize to tray" and "purge data file on exit". New settings added in new Outlook updates are supported through online updates of the software.
